Developing Cultural Competency - working toward shared understanding

The Early Years Learning Framework and My Time Our Place describe Cultural Competency as much more than awareness of cultural differences. It is the ability to understand, communicate with and interact with people across cultures.

As we live in such a culturally diverse society this workshop will explore the concept of our own cultural identity and the impact this has on our response to others and the environment.

Cultural competency is fundamental to providing an inclusive environment for children and families and we will look at strategies to embed this throughout our everyday curriculum.

This workshop has a strong focus on National Quality Standard Area 4—relationships with children.

Workshop location: ONLINE

Workshop time: 3:00pm - 5:00pm (NSW TIME)

Workshop cost: $60.00

Statement of Participation will be issued to participants on the completion of this workshop.
